The amendment seeks to implement the recommendations of the Maldon Historic Central Area Review (March 2025) and in so doing: ? Ensure the correct level of significance afforded to each property within the precinct (Significant, Contributory, Non-Contributory), as well as to identify individually significant places, as appropriate. ? Ensure the citations and statements of significance relating to the Maldon Historic Central Area adequately describe what, how and why the precinct and individually significant places are significant and are consistent with Planning Practice Note 1 Applying the Heritage Overlay. ? Provide a detailed assessment of the precinct and individually significant places, as required, and make recommendations for future strategic work.
